It's a new year. Clear blue skies, crispy winter air. The craziness of December is behind us. Kids are back to school. I just disposed of the Christmas tree (I'm sure the kids will be mad at me). We're buying paint for our new office and waiting for the French bureaucracy to get into gear and deliver the necessary registration numbers etc. for the company so we can get electricity and water at the office, a bank account etc. etc. (this usually takes two weeks but we submitted the paperwork just before the Christmas holidays so I'm sure it will take at least three...). A new adventure is awaiting. We're ready!

Who is we? and what is the new office for? not a home office then?
owwww, making me curious!
Best of luck with your new adventure!
Oh right, the tree. I need to address that today. Thanks for the reminder. :)
Bring it on :-)
I've always wondered when people take down their trees. Or Christmas lights. It feels like there are just as many Christmas lights up tonight (1/5) as there were on 12/25.
I love that you see putting away Christmas as a hopeful thing ... I think of it as somewhat wistful, but here you've cast it as a new beginning. :)
I like your style, lady!
I took down our tree yesterday, and when my daughter got home from school, she came inside and just stood in the hallway for several minutes until I asked what she was doing. At that point she said, accusingly, "You took down the tree without me!"
And yes...what is the new office for? Good luck with the bureaucracy!
